Frequently asked questions

Checking out equipment from CEE is a straightforward process. Equipment loans are limited to holders of Penn Cards (eg students, faculty, staff, and affiliates of the University of Pennsylvania). Start by exploring our inventory, which includes a variety of professional cameras, microphones and accessories. Once you've chosen something that suits your needs, select your desired rental period, which can range from a day to a week. Add the camera to your cart and proceed to checkout. Provide the necessary information and we will prepare the camera for pickup at CEE (located on the 3rd Floor of the Penn Museum). When your loan period is over, return the equipment during our regular hours.

If you accidentally damage equipment while using it, please notify us immediately. We understand that accidents can happen. The extent of the damage will be assessed, and you will be responsible for covering the repair or replacement costs. We recommend reviewing our loan agreement for the specific terms and conditions regarding damage. Your honesty in reporting any issues is greatly appreciated.

If you are enrolled in our Graduate Certificate Program, or are affiliated CEE faculty, you have the option to extend the loan period for an additional week without requiring an equipment check-in. To do so, please contact our team to discuss your requirements and coordinate an extension. We will work with you to update the loan terms and ensure the camera's continued availability. Keep in mind that equipment availability may vary, so it's advisable to let us know about your extension needs as early as possible to secure the equipment.
